Poverty: Oral Care

  • Poverty is something that transcends all nations, peoples, cultures, and religions. The #1 issue all impoverished peoples face is the lack of dental care and poor oral health. Even in the United States of America, impoverished Americans lack access to dental care, despite it obviously being part of health care (and despite the recent health care law passed), and are thus denied equal access to the level of health care enjoyed by the non-impoverished.

If the impoverished do not perish due to starvation, they will eventually succumb to it as a result of poor oral care and health or they will succumb to infection and disease as a result of poor oral care and health.
